Description

This one is different. We're taking it outside. Parque Urbano Outeiro da Vela, picnic benches, summer evening. And instead of just talking about Bitcoin, we're going to use it. Here's how it works. You show up, you get a lightning wallet set up in minutes, and you load it with sats. Then you use those sats to buy a drink, some food, something from the person next to you. *Short introduction: Why do we need a circular economy?* António will open the event by exploring why a circular economy is essential for a more resilient, sustainable, and prosperous future. *Main presentation: How is non-KYC Bitcoin key to a circular economy?* Rodrigo will explain why financial privacy, non-KYC Bitcoin, and the Lightning Network are fundamental to preserving the freedom needed for a truly peer-to-peer circular economy. *Next steps: What do we need to transition to a more circular economy?* Jean Jacques will conclude with practical ideas and real-world examples of how individuals, producers, and local communities can accelerate the transition to a more circular economy by reducing intermediaries and embracing direct exchange. The rest of the evening is just people buying from each other. Garden vegetables, homemade stuff, local kombucha, whatever people bring. We'll have a shared list so there's enough food and no ten people showing up with the same thing. It's the original promise of Bitcoin. Peer-to-peer. No intermediaries. No KYC. No permission. *Date:* July 15 *Location:* Parque Urbano Outeiro da Vela - picnic tables, Cascais *Time:* Doors 1630 · Presentations 18:00 · Open exchange and food after *Entry:* €15 — includes €10 back in sats, calculated using the EUR/BTC exchange rate on 10 July. Spots limited. Register to confirm your place and you'll get details on what to bring.
